It was first released on September 6, 2022 for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. Later, on December 6, 2022, they released the macOS version along with some new content for the game. Initially, you’ll have to pay in advance to play, but they’re considering making it free. But in October 2023, they changed their minds and decided it wouldn’t be free after all.

The game fully releases on December 5, 2023, and comes with the first big bonus part called “A Rift in Time.”
Disney Dream Valley 2024 Roadmap
Following its official launch in December 2023 with the release of the Rift in Time expansion pass, Disneyland is gearing up for a year full of exciting updates and new features. Both the base game and the expansion pass will see significantly reduced content in 2024, bringing players a wealth of new experiences.
Base game updates

Late Winter 2024: Introducing a new Realm Gate in the Castle leading to the Laughter Level, where players will meet Mike Wazowski and Sully from Monsters, Inc. Players will have the opportunity to invite them to the valley.

Early Spring 2024: A “vibrant” new villager (probably Daisy Duck) is arriving in the valley.

Late Spring 2024: Another new area may be introduced, possibly involving Mulan and hinted at a connection to “Dynasty.”

Summer 2024: Princess Tiana from The Princess and the Frog is coming to the valley, bringing new cooking recipes.
Expansion pass content

Currently available: The first chapter of A Rift in Time, “Welcome to the Timeless Isle,” already begins a storyline involving Jafar interfering with time. Rapunzel, Gaston and EVE are introduced along with the new Royal Hourglass tool.

Spring 2024: The second chapter of A Crack in Time will further explore the ancient landings and also add a new villager.

Summer 2024: The final chapter of “A Rift in Time” will conclude Jafar’s storyline and repair the rift in time. This chapter may introduce more, possibly including another new villager.

Disney Dream Valley gameplay
At Disneyland, you can dive into a world where you take care of this magical place filled with Disney and Pixar characters. It’s like being in a grand adventure where you control a character who lives in this special valley. You can explore, collect stuff, and even use magic to clear out these not-so-friendly plants known as “night thorns.”
You can cook, craft stations to craft items and tools that rely on magic to help you, such as a pickaxe or fishing rod. You can even decorate the place with furniture and style your clothes. As you play, you can earn coins, allowing you to buy cool stuff or upgrade your valley. The best part? You can become friends with the characters who live there by chatting, doing activities together, and giving gifts. The more friends you make, the more stuff and rewards you unlock!
Disney Dream Valley plot
The main story of the game begins when the player returns to his childhood hometown, Mengguang Valley, and enters a dream world where memories awaken. They meet Merlin, who explains that the valley was once filled with happy villagers until a ruler disappeared, causing nightthorns to grow and making everyone forget their past. Some villagers fled, others were trapped in valleys covered in night thorns. The player decides to help solve the problem.
Under Merlin’s guidance, players use their magic “Dream Light” to clear away giant night thorns blocking the path to a house similar to their own. They discover the memories hidden there and decide to investigate the Dream Castle. But it was blocked by more giant night thorns.

After encountering trapped villagers and obtaining special tools, they break the spell of eternal night and clear the way to the dream castle. Inside, they discover portals to different realms that the villagers fled from. These realms are sealed with Nightthorn so players can collect more Dreamlight, unlock doors and help the characters there.
Along the way, they repair local businesses, provide homes, and open blocked areas in the valley by placing magic orbs back on their pillars. As they provide more and more help, they gradually realize that they are the former rulers of the valley, but no longer visit, leading to the decline of the valley. The villagers explained that the Forsaken and the Nightthorn were caused by a dark creature known as the Forsaken.
As the player is about to restore the last pillar, the Forsaken, being the player’s inner child, corrupted by negative emotions, attempts to use the orb to destroy the valley. Players follow them, talk, and help the Forsaken remember the happier times and stop the rift from destroying everything. The Forsaken felt sorry, made amends with the player’s help, and returned to the valley. They were forgiven by the villagers and became part of Mengguang Valley again.
