A Plague Tale: Requiem is a new video game developed by Asobo Studio. It is the follow-up to a 2019 game called A Plague Tale: Innocence. The story follows two siblings, Amicia and Hugo, who are trying to find a cure for Hugo’s disease in the South of France.

A Plague Tale: Requiem under the New Sun
Step 1: Introduction
- After the cutscene ends, control switches to Amicia in a beautiful valley.

- A robber dies inside a collapsed house, revealing a climbable path.
- Learn to take on enemies up close and fight with a sling.
Step 14: Progress through challenges
- Squeeze through the gaps in the branches, kill an enemy, and follow your mother’s cry.
- Save your mother by targeting the enemies holding her hostage.
Step 15: Conclusion
- The chapter ends with a cutscene.
- Reflect on these events and prepare for the next step in your journey.

In A Plague Tale: Requiem, you control Amicia in a third-person action-adventure game. Facing humans and plague-spreading rats, gameplay is similar to the first game, but the scope of combat has been expanded. Amicia wields a knife for melee combat, a sling to launch rocks, and a crossbow against armored enemies.
New items like tar enhance your light source, which is crucial for survival. Larger locations offer diverse progression options, while improved stealth allows Amicia to recover from enemy detection. Her brother Hugo’s special powers reveal the location of his enemies and allow him to control the rat swarm. Rats play a vital role; stay in the light to avoid being attacked, but they can also be manipulated to solve puzzles or eliminate enemies. In A Plague Tale: Requiem, set in 1349, Amicia and Hugo, along with their mother and friend Lucas, flee to the Order of the Phoenix to seek refuge from the deadly Prima Macula. Confrontations with rival beekeepers spark chaos, forcing them to sail to La Cuna, guided by Hugo’s dreams.
On the island, they discover a cult that worships the yellow spot. The journey unfolds with betrayal, sacrifice and tragic revelations about Hugo’s connection to Macula. As she battles enemies and a plague, Amicia faces heartbreaking choices. In the end, Hugo sacrificed himself to stop the terror of the rat infestation. A year later, Amicia commemorates Hugo, while hints of Macula reappear in a modern-day post-credits scene.
